What are discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios

Discretionary portfolios

Most of Syfe’s Cash Management and Managed Portfolios are discretionary, meaning Syfe manages them fully on your behalf. When you invest in a discretionary portfolio, you grant Syfe the authority to:

  • Invest in the underlying assets
  • Adjust, re-optimise, or rebalance the portfolio whenever appropriate
  • Maintain the portfolio’s target asset allocation through periodic rebalancing

Each discretionary portfolio follows its own re-optimisation framework. For example, Core portfolios are managed using our asset allocation risk budgeting strategy and smart beta factor optimisation to enhance long-term risk-adjusted returns. You may refer to this article for details on how different portfolios are rebalanced.

Non-discretionary portfolio

Syfe currently offers one non-discretionary portfolio - Select Custom portfolio.

Select Custom allows you to build and manage your own portfolio using a curated list of over 100 best-in-class ETFs. You decide the ETF selection and allocation, and Syfe does not adjust, review, or rebalance your Custom portfolio.
