Dividends are credited to your Syfe portfolio as and when the underlying securities distribute them. The timing of these distributions depends on the dividend schedule of each security held in your portfolio.

Understanding Dividend Eligibility

Dividend entitlement depends on whether your securities were purchased before or after the ex-dividend date declared:

• If you bought the security before the ex-date, you’ll be entitled to the dividend on the declared payment date.
• If you bought the security on or after the ex-date, you’ll not receive the current dividend, but will be eligible for future distributions.

Example

Suppose you started investing in ETF X on 11 August 2022, which distributes dividends semi-annually. The most recent ex-dividend date was 28 July 2022, and the payment date was 31 August 2022.

Since your investment began after the ex-date, you would not be entitled to the 31 August dividend. You will, however, receive dividends from the next distribution cycle.
