Generally, options expire as the market closes on the expiration date and can no longer be traded. Their value will be determined by whether they are in-the-money (ITM) or out-of-the-money (OTM).
Can I close my position before expiration?
Yes, you can close any open option position before expiration by executing an offsetting trade. This allows you to lock in profits or limit losses without waiting for expiry.
What happens if my option expires out-of-the-money (OTM)?
If your options contract expires out-of-the-money (OTM), it becomes worthless and you lose the premium paid. You may also close your position before expiry if you wish to do so.
What will happen in case my options contract is not executed on expiry day?
If it is impossible to close out at market price due to insufficient liquidity or other causes, Syfe retains the rights of options execution, which may result in the loss of the entire value of such options to the user.
