How can we help?

How do I set up my joint account?

Both you and your joint holder need to complete these steps on your personal accounts first:

  1. Verify your identity — complete KYC and sign the Syfe Client Agreement on your personal account.
  2. Complete your investment profile — share your risk appetite, goals, and investment timeline.
  3. Activate Brokerage — sign the Brokerage Agreement to unlock trading in your joint account.
  4. Complete the Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) and Customer Account Review (CAR) — this gives your joint account full access to all Syfe products.

Once you're both ready, either of you can send a joint account invitation from the app. Follow the step-by-step guide below to get started.

Accepting the invite isn't the last step. Every joint account goes through two stages — Accept, then Complete Setup — and the account isn't created until Complete Setup is finished. For some, that's a quick tap. For others, it may include a few more KYC checks first.

What do "Accepted" and "Complete Set up" mean?

These are two different states, and it helps to know them apart:

  • Accepted — your joint holder has agreed to open the joint account with you. This confirms their intent, but the account doesn't exist yet.
  • Complete Setup — the step that actually creates the joint account. Everyone sees this after accepting; how long it takes depends on whether your joint holder has any KYC checks still outstanding on their personal account.

I accepted the invite (or my joint holder did) — why can't I find the joint account yet?

This is expected — accepting and completing setup are two separate steps for everyone. Check whether there's still a Complete Setup button waiting to be tapped. Until that's done, the invite will show as accepted, but the joint account itself won't appear in the app yet.

What happens if I send an invite to someone who does not have their own personal Syfe account?

In order for 2 individuals to create a Syfe joint account together, they would both need to have their own personal Syfe accounts.

Your joint account holder will have to create a new Syfe account and complete the above 4 steps on their personal account first. Once these are completed, they will be able to accept your joint account invitation successfully.

How do I access my joint account?

You can access your joint account directly through your personal Syfe account — separate login credentials are not required.
