How does one qualify as an Accredited Investor?

For individuals to attain Accredited Investor status, they have to meet any of the following criteria:

Criteria 1

Income in the preceding 12 months is not less than SGD300,000 (or its equivalent in a foreign currency).

Sample of Supporting documents: 

  • NOA
  • 3 months worth of payslips

Criteria 2

Net financial assets exceeding SGD1 million in value (or its equivalent in a foreign currency);

Definition of Financial Assets: 

Financial assets are investments or holdings that can be readily bought or sold. They typically include:

  • Bank deposits
  • Investment products like stock, bonds, and funds
  • Other assets as defined by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)

Sample of Supporting documents: 

  • Latest statement from brokerage houses showing account balances
  • Latest bank statement

Criteria 3

Net personal assets exceeding SGD2 million (or its equivalent in a foreign currency);

Definition of Personal Assets:

Personal assets are things you own that have significant monetary value. They include:

  • Properties (including your primary residence)
  • Financial assets
  • Other valuable possessions

Sample of Supporting documents: 

For Property

  1. Title deeds (free of encumbrances)*
  2. Latest housing loan statement

(Net equity for primary residence is capped at SGD1 million; no limits for other properties)

For Net Financial Assets

  • Latest account statement from other asset managers
  • Latest bank statement

For Others

  • Valuation certificate or proof
