How can we help?

How long does a Syfe Portfolios withdrawal request take to be completed?

When you initiate a withdrawal from your Syfe portfolio, the underlying securities must be sold before the cash proceeds can be transferred to your bank account.

Important Notes on Withdrawals

  • In exceptional circumstances (e.g., corporate actions, rights issues, or portfolio rebalancing), withdrawals may experience slight delays. Rest assured, Syfe will make every effort to ensure withdrawals are processed promptly and minimise any delays.
  • The final amount received in your bank account may differ from the amount displayed in your portfolio. For more details, refer to: If I submit a ‘full withdrawal’ request, will I receive the full amount displayed in my portfolio?
  • If you deposit funds and then initiate a full withdrawal, the processing time may take longer than the standard timeline due to the sequence in which transactions are processed:
      1. Deposits are processed first, with buy trades placed for the underlying securities.
      2. Buy trades must settle before sell trades for the withdrawal request can be executed.
      3. Example: If you deposit SGD 10,000 into a Core portfolio on January 1st and submit a withdrawal request on January 2nd, the buy trades would take 2–3 business days to settle, followed by another 2–3 business days for the sell trades to be completed. As a result, the full withdrawal process could take up to 6 business days.
      4. For more details on investment settlement timelines, refer to: How long does it take for funds transferred to be invested?

Withdrawals to Overseas or International Banks

  • Transfers to overseas banks typically take 5–10 business days, depending on the processes of intermediary and recipient banks.
  • Some banks may hold funds for compliance or regulatory checks, which may cause further delays. If this happens, you may need to contact your bank for assistance.
  • Syfe does not charge withdrawal fees, but intermediary or beneficiary banks may apply currency conversion fees and other charges for receiving overseas transfers. These fees vary between banks and will be deducted automatically from the received amount. For more information: Are there charges for making a withdrawal?
