How can we help?

What currencies can I use to fund my Syfe portfolio?

Syfe accepts fund transfers in SGD, USD, and other selected foreign currencies. The funding method and processing may differ depending on the currency and portfolio type.

USD-denominated portfolios (Core, Select, Cash+ Flexi USD and Downside Protected Portfolio)

  • You may fund these portfolios in SGD or USD.
  • If you fund in SGD, funds will be automatically converted to USD before being invested.
    • Syfe clients enjoy currency conversion rates of 0.09%–0.12%, lower than typical retail rates (~0.5%–0.7%).
  • If you fund in USD, no currency conversion will be applied.
    • Minimum USD funding amount: USD 10,000.
    • Please note that while Syfe does not charge any fees for incoming USD transfers, intermediary and/or remitting banks may impose bank charges (estimated at least USD 50).

Cash+ Guaranteed (USD) portfolio

  • This portfolio can be funded in SGD or USD.
  • If you fund in SGD, funds will be automatically converted to USD before being invested at the prevailing FX rate (at the time of conversion).
  • If you fund in USD, no currency conversion will apply.

We recommend a minimum funding of USD 50,000 for Cash+ Guaranteed (USD) to maximise returns and account for bank charges and transaction costs.

  • Similar to other USD transfers - please note that while Syfe does not charge any fees for incoming USD transfers, intermediary and/or remitting banks may impose bank charges (estimated at least USD 50).

SGD-denominated portfolios (Cash+ Flexi SGD, Cash+ Guaranteed SGD, REIT+ and Income+)

  • These portfolios can only be funded in SGD.
  • Since the underlying assets are SGD-denominated, or in the case of Income+, SGD-hedged, there are no currency conversion fees involved.

Funding with other currencies

Syfe currently accepts Telegraphic Transfers (TT) in the following currencies:

  • SGD, USD, AUD, CAD, CNH, HKD, NZD, GBP, NOK, SEK, CHF, EUR, JPY

However, Syfe’s multi-currency account only holds USD and SGD. Therefore:

  • Funds in other currencies will be converted into USD or SGD (depending on the recipient account number you chose by toggling your “Transfer in” currency) by our partner bank at their prevailing exchange rates at the time of transfer.
  • You may consider using online remittance platforms like Wise or Revolut for potentially more competitive forex rates. For more information: How to Fund Your Account Without a Singapore Bank (Insert link)

Once converted to USD or SGD, your funds will be invested into your selected portfolio.

How to fund using wire transfer, TT, or online remittance

  1. Initiate a Wire Transfer / TT from your bank following the instructions in your Syfe app.
  2. After the transfer, submit the transaction details and email your PDF receipt to support.sg@syfe.com
  3. You will receive an email confirmation once your funds are processed.

Please avoid funding via PayNow from third-party digital wallets (e.g. LifeSG, Singlife) as they will not be accepted.
