If you’ve submitted an internal transfer request (i.e. transferring funds from one Syfe portfolio to another), you may be able to cancel it — as long as the request has not yet started processing (i.e. still under “Requested” state).
Steps to cancel your internal transfer request:
- Open the Syfe app and tap on “Invest” or “Save”.
- Select the portfolio you had initiated the transfer from.
- Scroll down and tap on the “Transactions” section.
- Locate and tap on the relevant “Portfolio Transfer (Out)” transaction.
- If your internal transfer is still in the “Requested” state:
- You will see a “Cancel Request” option.
- Tap “Cancel Request”, then tap “Proceed” to confirm your cancellation.
Important:
- If your internal transfer is already “Processing”, the “Cancel Request” option will no longer be available.
- This means your transfer has begun execution and can no longer be cancelled.
- Note: An internal transfer involves selling the underlying securities in the originating portfolio (similar to a withdrawal). Once the sell trades settle, the funds will be transferred into the destination portfolio, where the buy trades for the new portfolio’s securities will then be placed. Hence, for more information on the estimated processing timeline, please refer to: How long does a Syfe Portfolios withdrawal request take to be completed?
