What is fractional trading and which securities can I trade fractionally?

Fractional trading allows you to purchase a portion of a share rather than a full share, enabling you to invest in your favourite companies regardless of the share price.

You simply decide how much you want to invest even if it’s not enough to buy a whole share, you can still own a fraction of it. This helps you fully utilise your available funds to build a diversified portfolio.

Which Securities Support Fractional Trading?

US Market

  • Over 10,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs are eligible for fractional trading on Syfe Brokerage.
  • Fractional trading is enabled by default for most US securities, excluding penny stocks.
  • We're continually expanding the list of eligible securities based on demand, trading activity, volatility, and price.
  • If a security is not eligible for fractional trading, you will see an error message when attempting to trade a fractional amount.
  • There are no extra fees for trading fractional shares. Standard Brokerage trading fees apply as usual for each transaction.

Singapore and Hong Kong Markets

  • Fractional trading is not supported for SGX and HKEX-listed securities.
  • However, Odd lot trading is available when you trade SGX-listed assets on our app. Simply select “Odd lot” from the order type when you place a trade.
  • The minimum quantity is 1 share, and the maximum is 99. Standard Brokerage trading fees apply as usual for each transaction.
  • For SGX-listed stocks and REITs, trading is supported in full lots (typically 100 shares) or odd lots. (please refer to here)
